And We're Off ...

I can't believe it! I guess to sound uber-cliche', "Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of our lives!" Mary Kennedy starts kindergarten! It's not a really big deal to her, because she has gone to daycare and/or preschool her entire life, year round, but to me, it's like we are at the top of a really tall roller coaster and tomorrow is when we finally start rolling over the edge and accelerate quickly to the future. Tomorrow, Mary Kennedy and her friends officially become the Class of 2023.

I don't know why, but it just seems like this is *really* when time is going to start flying by, and I know that (as my Daddy would say), it won't be long until we are blogging about high school graduation...at least we still have Charlie in diapers. That certainly helps to ground everything!

Mary Kennedy has her uniform all laid out, we washed, dried and flat ironed her hair, and I have lots of groceries for snack and the lunch box. I tried to get her in the bed early, and although it's earlier than normal, it still wasn't early enough. We have much more strict tardy rules at the new school and about a 10 minute farther drive, so we will have to be diligent about waking up daily and leaving the house by 7:15 AM. This is going to be hard for all of us - we're a bunch of sleepy-heads.

I am so thankful that Mary Kennedy is going to be attending a Christian school and that her education will be based on a system of learning that encourages independent thinking and exploration. I think that she is going to do great!

I can't wait to take pictures in the morning! GO LIONS!!!
