Four Going On Twenty

I'm scared, y'all. This is a very terse recap of several conversations with my four year old daughter today.

This morning she woke us up asking for us to "turn the hospital on". (She loves to watch Discovery Health Channel - I can blame myself for this one.) Kendall tried to show her which buttons to mash on the remote control, but she was whining, "I can't do it, Daddy, and there's cartoons on TV! I want to watch the hospital." Is it weird that my four year old would rather watch (with rapt attention, mind you) surgeries, autopsies and etc... instead of cartoons?

Tonight, we are watching (gasp!) the Discovery Health Channel about gastric bypass surgery. She asked me what they were doing to her stomach - are they making her skinny? Well, the lady died and they showed her being buried and now we have gone through the 20 questions about THAT. She just said, "when I had surgery, did I die?" We still haven't been able to explain the whole death thing although we discuss it almost every day. Mostly we discuss it as it relates to Jesus and going to heaven, but then there's times like tonight ...

I think she's watched these shows too much when she talks about going to see Dr. G. (i.e. when you die, you go see Dr. G.)

She also told me today that she wants her hair to be longer like Bella's. She tells me this almost everyday. Bless her sweet little heart. She's had about four haircuts in her four years - her hair grows so slow and it's curly to boot, so it looks even shorter than it is. She desperately wants locks down to her bum like her best friend Bella. I don't have the heart to tell her that she'll probably be twelve before that happens. We did get out the curling iron to straighten it out a little bit so it looked longer. She also wants brown hair. She is not excited about being the only blondie in the family.

New Neighbor

We are new to the blogspot neighborhood and I need to figure out how to format these pages so I can have a purdy page. I figured for now, might as well have the blog the same color as our house - you know, when you have a house this color, it's EASY to give people directions!

Many of you have kept up with us over on Meadville Road. That site is in a state of disrepair, much like the *real* Meadville Road, so I think we'll leave that project for another day.
